Do I need to empty my dresser drawers?
This is the #1 question we get! The honest answer is: it depends on the piece. For sturdy dressers, you can usually leave light clothing (t-shirts, socks, shorts) in the drawers. However, please remove breakables and heavy items like books, and always empty the drawers of antique or fragile furniture. If the piece is too heavy to safely navigate your stairs, we might ask to remove the drawers temporarily, but we'll handle that for you.
It's North Carolina... what if it rains on moving day?
Raleigh weather changes every five minutes, so we’re always prepared to move rain or shine. We use extra shrink wrap and thick padding to keep your belongings dry from the moment they leave your front door to the second they’re safe inside the truck.
If a heavy storm rolls through, we’ll usually pause and wait it out so we don't leave you stranded in the middle of a move. That said, safety is the one thing we won't compromise on. If a hurricane or truly dangerous conditions make it unsafe for you or our crew, we will reach out immediately to find a new date that works for your schedule.
What happens if my moving date gets pushed back?
We know that real estate closings can be unpredictable and frustrating. If your closing gets delayed, call us immediately. We’ll do everything we can to be flexible and find a new date that works. It’s a common part of the process, so try not to worry—we’ll figure it out together. If there’s a gap between moving out and moving in, we can also help coordinate overnight holdovers or temporary storage to keep your belongings safe.
How do you protect my big TV?
We treat your TV like the investment it is. The safest way to move it is in the original box with the foam inserts, but if you didn't keep those, don't worry—we have specialized TV boxes for rent or purchase. While we can wrap a TV in moving blankets, boxes aren't just for scratches; they protect the screen from the bumps and vibrations of the road. We want to make sure that when you plug it in at the new house, it works perfectly.
Should I tip the movers?
We get asked this a lot because people want to do the right thing! Tipping is never required or expected, but it is always appreciated by the crew if you feel they did a great job.
